Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using ScreenTailor, you confirm that you have read these Terms and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Service.

2. License grant

A paid license grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use one copy of ScreenTailor on one Mac that you own or primarily use. You may move the license to a different Mac by deactivating it from the original Mac through the in-app Settings.

A 14-day free trial of the full feature set is available before purchase. The trial is limited to one device and does not require a payment method.

3. Restrictions

You agree not to:

• reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble ScreenTailor except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law;
• redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or lend ScreenTailor or any license key;
• remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices in ScreenTailor;
• use ScreenTailor to record content in violation of applicable law or another person's rights (for example, intercepting communications you are not authorized to record);
• use ScreenTailor to develop a competing product.

4. Your content

Recordings, edits, exports, and any other content you create with ScreenTailor are yours. We claim no ownership of, and no license to, your content. As described in our Privacy Policy, recordings stay on your Mac and we have no ability to access them.

5. Pricing and refunds

ScreenTailor is available as a one-time purchase of USD $39, with a 14-day free trial of all Pro features. The current price is always reflected on this site.

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Refund requests are handled by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with their standard refund policy. To request a refund, contact us at the email below and we will coordinate with Lemon Squeezy on your behalf.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SCREENTAILOR AND THE WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING (WITHOUT LIMITATION) WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THE ABSENCE OF DEFECTS OR ERRORS. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF LOSS OR CORRUPTION OF YOUR DATA.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR RECORDINGS, ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for ScreenTailor in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or, if you have paid nothing, USD 0.

8. Termination

These Terms remain in effect for as long as you use the Service. We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms, including by violating Section 3 (Restrictions). On termination, you must stop using ScreenTailor and delete all copies in your possession.

You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling ScreenTailor and deleting its data folder. Sections 4–7 survive termination.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. The exclusive jurisdiction and venue for any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service is the Tokyo District Court (東京地方裁判所) as the court of first instance.

If you reside in a jurisdiction whose mandatory consumer-protection rules give you broader rights than these Terms, those mandatory rules continue to apply.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notified within the app or on this page. Continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
